"I am stationed in Mosul, Iraq. I just finished watching the video of my family on your website, and want to thank you so much for what you and everyone involved is doing. That was the best hour of my entire deployment.

I can't put into words how much it means to me. It was just great to be able to see and hear my wife and girls. Not to mention that I can go back and watch it whenever I want while I'm here. You can guarantee that I will tell every soldier in my unit about it. It truly is the best time I've had in almost six months. This will make my remaining six months go a little easier. Thank you a million times."

We know that a large portion of your home movies may be on film, since the first VHS tape recorder didn’t hit the market until 1976! You should be able to discover the joy in watching ALL of your memories online, regardless of whether they were shot on film or tape. HomeMovie.Com offers high quality digital film transfers to ensure that you have that option. We create a master digital tape of all your transferred film as a precautionary measure and for your archives, in addition to streaming the footage for you to use with your Afiniti account for editing, DVD creation, and sharing with family and friends.

Trust is key. You need to feel confident that your irreplaceable film memories will be safe with us. Send us a 2-hour sample of your library footage that you’d like to have transferred. This may include of a variety of different film types and reel sizes (on average, 13 feet of 8mm = 1 minute of footage). We’ll transfer the film, load it into your Afiniti account, and notify you via e-mail that it’s ready for viewing. Once you’ve had the chance to watch these special moments online, we’re confident that we’ll have earned your trust and you’ll want to see the rest of the footage in your library.

You may not know exactly what type of film you have because you don’t have a projector or the one you have no longer works, or you’ve inherited these memories and have no way to know what's on them. If your film is on a reel between 3 to 7 inches in diameter, it is probably one of the film types displayed on our estimate page. The good news is that unless you notice that the film is physically damaged in some way, it most likely can be converted. This is because film, while less convenient than videotape, is far more durable and subject to fewer forms of degradation than tape (although it doesn't even come close to DVD).
