"I am stationed in Mosul, Iraq. I just finished watching the video of my family on your website, and want to thank you so much for what you and everyone involved is doing. That was the best hour of my entire deployment.

I can't put into words how much it means to me. It was just great to be able to see and hear my wife and girls. Not to mention that I can go back and watch it whenever I want while I'm here. You can guarantee that I will tell every soldier in my unit about it. It truly is the best time I've had in almost six months. This will make my remaining six months go a little easier. Thank you a million times."

What is Afiniti?
Afiniti is a web-based video preservation, viewing, editing and sharing tool. It can be downloaded from the HomeMovie.com website for free. Afiniti allows the user to upload and post their videos to family and friends, as well as edit and publish them with just one click. Through this technology, customers can also create Hollywood-quality DVD’s complete with chapters, menu images

How can I try Afiniti?
Afiniti requires a high-speed Internet connection. Cable, DSL or satellite will work. Speeds over 300K will work, but the system will work with as low as 256K. Dial-up will not be supported. Your operating system should be Windows 98SE or above for PC and OSX for the Mac are required. The last necessity before you can use Afiniti is you have to be running Internet Explorer 5.0 or above or Windows Media Player 10 for superior functionality and quality. If you go to the HomeMovie.com website, under “Afiniti Help” then go to “technical set-up,” you should be able to make sure your computer can support Afiniti.

How does Afiniti preserve my video content?
The first step is to get your tapes converted to DVD format as soon as possible. The longer you wait to convert them, the more damage it will cause for your special memories. HomeMovie.com charges only $5/tape to get them “encoded” into digital format and stored onto our secure servers. You can then use the Afiniti system to “burn” DVD copies of each one you want.

How much does it cost to view my videos online?
Remember, all the video that you capture, edit and watch on your own computer can be stored for free! (it is, after all, YOUR computer).  You only get charged when you want to share or preserve your video in your Afiniti account.  The prices for viewing & sharing are as follows:
• Up to 5 hours is Free!
• $3.99/month for up to 10 hours of video
• $6.99/month for up to 20 hours of video
• Each additional 20 hours is $5.00/month

What does Afiniti cost?
If you have all of the correct computer requirements, your first step is to set-up an account with Afiniti. This will require a username and password that should be kept somewhere safe. After you set-up your account, you can get started by choosing the tapes you wish to either view online or possibly convert to DVD format. The cost for doing this is $5/tape processing fee. After you have done this, choose a shipping method; preferably UPS, U.S. Postal Service or FedX.

What videotape formats do you accept?
We accept most consumer format videotapes including VHS, VHS-C, SVHS, 8mm (tape), Digital 8, miniDV, DVCAM, DVD Pro, BetaMax, BetaSP (large and small formats), mini DVD and MicroMV. We also accept old Regular 8, Super 8 and 16mm film. Call us if you have a format that is not listed, we probably will be able to process it.

Who are your customers?
Afiniti welcomes all types of consumers. Whether it is mothers with newborns sharing their babies’ first sounds with relatives, newlyweds, or troops in Iraq, watching footage of their family while they are overseas, HomeMovie.com encourages both the young and the young at heart to try our product. We also provide services to our professional videographers base who use Afiniti to burn their video to high-quality DVD format.

What makes Afiniti different from other video sharing services?

Video acquisition:
Other video sharing companies assume you already have video on your computer, or just want to share short clips. Only with afiniti can you grab the entire video, edit and organize your clips and create custom home movies to share with family & friends

Private network:
Although Afiniti allows you to publish individual clips to the web for inclusion in your personal blog or webpage, we have designed our service around the sharing and enjoyment of movies with your family & friends – NOT the entire Internet world. Each video is shared on a per-person, per-movie basis, ensuring that your movies are available only to those people with whom you wish to share.

Editing and publishing of your entire video library:
Life doesn’t happen in 60-second chunks – so why should you watch it that way? Only with Afiniti can you manage ALL of your home video content and create custom videos that your friends and family won’t sleep through boring, unneeded clips. Afiniti allows you to scan an entire two-hour video in seconds using our video time line solution, located directly in the Afiniti player.

Do It Yourself, or have us do it for you
Only with Afiniti can you enable your video library on your own OR send your tapes in for processing into your account. For only $5/tape, you can have HomeMovie.com convert them to high quality DVD format complete with chapters, menu images, movie SnapShots and packaging.

When did HomeMovie.Com enter the market?
HomeMovie.com entered the market in 2000 and has been generating sales since April of that year. HomeMovie.com hit the market when DVD streaming was just taking flight. Our company targets the professional videographer, the newly wed and the everyday technology savvy consumer. Our main goal is to get rid of the Do-it-yourself solutions by offering a way to preserve, edit and share your video content to DVD while at the same time delivering personalized authoring services at a lower cost and higher quality.
